Frequently Asked Questions
What is Ceroc?
Ceroc is a fusion of Jive and salsa, fun and easy to learn. It is
the original, largest and fastest growing partner dance in the UK.
I can't dance will I make a fool of myself?
Absolutely not. Our classes attract typically 100 people per night
and there are always completely new members every night and we have
a team of people called Taxi dancers who are dedicated to new people.
It's no different to learning anything, you will find that after
about 5 minutes that there was really nothing to worry about as
the beginners classes are really easy.
Do I need to book in advance?
No. There is no set course that you need to enroll on. Every week
there will always be a number of people there for the first time
and therefore we always run a complete beginners classes, you can
just turn up to whatever venue you like, as and when you like.
Do I need to bring a partner?
No. There is no need to take a partner with you because Ceroc's
teaching method means that everyone will be moved around to change
partners during the classes, therefore, it does not make any difference
whether you come on your own or with friends, either way you get
to meet and dance with everyone else at least once.
What should I wear?
You do not need any particular clothing to attend a Ceroc evening.
Anything goes, casual wear or smart dress, as long as you feel comfortable,
it is really up to you!! As for shoes, wear something that will
allow you to move freely on the dance floor, we recommend leather
sole shoes.
How much does it cost?
On a normal weekday night the evening will cost £7.00, plus
a one-off membership fee of £3.00. As long as you bring your
membership card with you each time you come again, you won't need
to pay that £3.00 again.
Do I need to become a member?
Yes. Everyone needs to be a Ceroc member. You pay £3 but remember
this is only a one off payment for a lifetime membership valid in
every Ceroc venue nationwide. Click here to see our
membership terms and conditions
What can I do to learn quickly?
We host 4 hour intensive workshops for no more than 16 people. These
'Cerocshops' as we call them are a great way to learn moves and
how to freestyle quickly. You should enquire about these at the
front desk or check out our Workshops
page.
Alternatively, beginner DVD's and Video's are available to purchase
which is a great way to learn Ceroc from the privacy of your living
room.
